Discussion:
[IAC#RG] Narendra Modi is the corrupt mouse that roars !!

After viewing Modi's speech to his party cadres, I was reminded of the
1960's satirical movie 'The Mouse that Roared
<http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053084/>' (Peter Sellers) about a 2 bit
impoverished nation which declares war on the United States hoping to lose
and get foreign aid. [trailer

and I am not referring to Pakistan :-)

Frankly, Modi at Kozikhode looked like an 80-Year-old Amitabh Bachhan
trying to reprise his Zanjeer days. Those same tired recycled Salim Javed
dialogues interspersed with twits from Hindustan ki Kasam and Haqeeqat have
fooled nobody outside the BJP, and least of all IAC, no matter how Modi's
paid news channels hail his 'strategic restraint'.

Simply put, strategic restraint means that previous BJP disasters like
Operation Parakram cannot be repeated, and Modi has wisely avoided that
trap due to his compulsions, However, the world knows, even if
irresponsible BJP cadres don't, that India's capacity to fight has been
severely eroded under successive Congi and NDA govts. Our ordnances,
armouries and reserves are severely depleted and troops and police
exhausted by side duties and poor inputs.

As I write, frantic calls are being made from MoD offices to all the arms
dealers everywhere essentially saying '*Tell us what you have available for
delivery right now*'. This is a golden opportunity for the world to dump
all their expired stocks on us at any price they demand. The nation is
being looted through this war hysteria fabricated by Doval and his rogue
network - which unfortunately contains many misguided retired forces chiefs
and other Großer Generalstab (traitors) in it.

For instance, why the great hurry for signing this 36 plane Rafael deal, a
roundly criticised classic case of *too little too late* for the IAF, at
this time ? Why is India buying these *planes at 4 times the cost they are
sold to the French Airforce* ? Normally in the arms business it is common
to export at below price to outsiders to keep domestic production going. *This
clearly shows that there are still kickbacks of at least 500% in this deal*.

Mark our words Mr. Modi : This BJP Govt is shaping up to be even more
corrupt than the Congress was, and all the fake jingoism and manufactured
Bharat Mata ki Jai crap to your BJP cadres, and hiding behind national
secrecy, is not going to stop our saying so.

*PS*: Everyday Doval remains is reaffirmation that Modi & Co. are corrupt.

It is disgusting to receive such write ups where abusive and vituperative
language such as corrupt mouse, rogue network etc. have been freely used.,
without responsible journalism. .

Rafael deal has been under negotiation for several years and not decided
suddenly. It appears that anyone can write anything and get away with it
in this country today.

With person like Kejriwal being in the scene, people are already losing
faith in the so called anti corruption crusaders. Let those who claim that
they are fighting against corruption stop using simply abusive language but
substantiate their allegations in responsible manner. . Otherwise, they
would be doing great disservice to anti corruption movement.

Dear Mr. Venkatraman

I shall address all the points in your email. If I have left out any,
inadvertently, please flag them

Firstly, let me say that I am not a stranger to weapons technologies. For
eg. in my early days as an engineer I worked on aspects of firing control
systems for a navy ship, and later hydraulics of the Arjun Main Battle Tank
then worked on reverse engineering Russian spare parts for MiGs.

2) Since you are from Chennai, I cite the Hindu dt. Sep. 25, 2016
"*Rafale deal welcome but fleet small: Experts*
<http://www.thehindu.com/news/rafale-deal-welcome-but-fleet-small-experts/article9144910.ece>
"

Their "experts" agree that the deal "*seems to have been guided more by
“political prudence than operational requirements.*”

Decoded this represents the '*bania*' bean counting approach from PMO / MoD
babus which has strangled the operational capabilities of our armed forces.

Since IAC stands, unequivocally, for India's territorial integrity and for
a LARGER INDIA ('*Akhand Bharat*') I was shocked at the PM's public
statements that henceforth war with Pakistan would be fought economically
through better schools and health and not through a fitting military
response at the appropriate time / place of our army's choosing. IAC is not
at all like Kejriwal or Prashant Bhushan asking for referendums in J&K
after forces are withdrawn and I am shocked you are clubbing us with them.

If anyone is apeing Kejriwal it is Mr. Modi and not IAC. Mr. Modi is a
politician appealing to vote banks. IAC has no such considerations when we
write. It is the limited SUCCESS of AAP in Delhi on schools and health and
water delivery which is causing Mr. Modi's party so much angst in crucial
border states like Punjab at poll time.

In any case, if there is any controversy on who propped up Kejriwal, let me
say unequivocally, that it was Mr. Ajit Doval and friends since at least
2010 and *they continue to control him*.

Doval's rogue network (although in retrospect 'network of rogues' is a
better descriptor) comprises also a vast network of so-called Hindu
militant / pseudo-nationalist fringe persons and failed police officers
ultimately owing loyalty to the United States of America. Their gameplan is
to convert India into a partner in the USA's war on terror, in other words,
India is to replace Pakistan in the USA's scheme of things.

IAC also stands unequivocally for INDIA FIRST. IAC shall always oppose
India's being a puppet state of any imperialist power.

It is crystal clear that the Government of India will engage in a war,
limited or unlimited, with Pakistan in the near future - and certainly
within Mr. Modi's present term. IAC has therefore publicly questioned the
KNEE JERK reaction of MoD in desperately contacting foreign arms suppliers
asking for vast off-the-shelf purchases in great haste recently. As per my
sources, which are as good as Mr. Doval's, *Rosoboronexport* is inundated
with inquiries in last week. Same goes for all the former Soviet states
which have manufacturing capacity.

So let IAC ask 1 question, and I dare you Mr. Venkatraman to answer it.

*Who was the corrupt US sponsored CIA puppet in Modi sarkar cabinet who
effectively imposed CUSTOMS DUTY on ARMAMENT IMPORTS by Govt. wef 2015-16
by withdrawing vital customs duty exemptions ?*
Previously, MoD / Forces did not have to pay Customs duty on their imports.
After these CBEC changes, contracted armaments started arriving at docks
and were standing in the open for months because no corresponding budgetary
provision had been made for payment of the customs duty. The situation
became so grave that shipments were being turned back on the high seas. All
this happened between Feb 2016 and May 2016. *Do you wish to dispute this
Mr. Venkatraman* ? Should I name the Minister ? Because I stand by this
statement, and what is known to me (a common citizen) is obviously known
also to Pakis who were quick to exploit the situation and our lack of
operational readiness, I am alleging corruption.

Several loopholes still exist, for eg. Supplier A ships arms, 10% of which
are defective and need to be replaced. Because of this new customs duty
situation, supplier A will not easly accept the defective goods back to
replace it because they will not bear double customs duty. There was a
fierce tussle going on over this (unreported), but Mr. Parrikar
unfortunately is a lightweight and ultimately our forces are bleeding
because of such nonsense.

There is also apparently a fundamental principle known as "vicarious
liability" which the BJP spokesperson Mr. Sambit Patra explained when I
appeared with him on Arnab's show on 15th Sept. Simply put this means if
there is any corrupt decision by the BJP cabinet then Mr. Modi is
responsible for it.

Now to the facts of the RAFAEL deal.

As the Hindu says, the French Airforce purchased their planes at 55 million
Euros each. In comparison ours are to cost Euro 225 million each. ie. about
4.1x times more. Do the maths yourself. So either I am wrong or 'The Hindu'
is wrong with their figures.

So kindly explain, Mr. Venkatraman how I am wrong when I say that India is
buying the Rafaels at 4 times the cost to their own French airforce.

If you want I can decode for you Air Marshal Matheswaran's observations
about customisations and tweaks. BUT, I am sure that the 6,000 IESM's on
this channel can do it better for you.

So, let us put the nation first and politics last, and focus on our mission
to fight corruption by exposing such scandals irrespective of which party
has committed them,.Thre is no abusive word being used.,We are very careful
when we write.

Let us separate two issues- corruption and governance. Kejrival fought election on corruption and has miserably failed on governance. And whatever Mr. S. Roy say or defend himself it is the India against corruption Jan andolan which gave a public face to kejrival otherwise who knew him before. S. Roy' claim that he had disassociated himself from that andolan does not change the subsequent development leading to kejrival , landslide victory and miserable failure in governance. Doling out subsidity on water and electricity is no substute for financial health.
It is also fact that s.roy' s language is aciditic in extreme when it comes to attacking any person or country whether is modi or united states. He is equally so when some people find fault with his judgements or pronouncement. That is certainly not a hallmark of a democrat.
For the p.m less said is better. But no one deny he is doing his best considering the political economic and strategic environment prevailing today.
I have always found Mr. Venkteraman very responsible in his comments. Location has no meaning. Then we start questioning the wisdom leaders from south the list of which is very long.

Dear Shri Gaur

At the outset let me say that we certainly try and have a healthy debate on
important national issues on this IAC platform with a wide range /
diversity of subscribers. In fact Mr.Venkatraman is a G.Sec of IAC in
Chennai and although we may differ on some minor points (eg. Gandhigiri /
No-Gandhi / Bhagat Singh etc.) at the end of the day It is nation first and
politics last. The sort of frank talk Mr. Venkatraman and I can conduct
openly here would not happen in any political party, and there are no hard
feelings between us. If this is not a sign of democracy then I don't what
is.

As a long-time subscriber you would also recall my equally acerbic writings
on Kejriwal, AAP, Congress, Sonia, Rahul etc. FYI, everything you or I
write to this group is publicly archived and searchable on sites like
http://rti4citizens.blogspot.in etc. So we are transparent.

Also, we have always encouraged the viewpoints of our intellectuals from
South India. eg. you will recall the long (never ending) discussions in the
past over imposing Hindi on Southern States.

FYI, if anyone made Kejriwal, It was support from Jindals and GMR arranged
by Doval. We immediately disassociated within a matter of 2 months from
Kejriwal. In a separate post I shall show that IAC had delinked by March
2011 and Kejriwal & Co were not using IAC name for Jan Lokpal movement.

Finally, I don't disagree with any 'opinions' people post here, Everyone is
entitled to have an opinion and to express it. But if the factual basis of
those opinions is shaky I shall respond to it so that our subscribers are
not misled.

Dear Shri Gaur
At the outset let me say that we certainly try and have a healthy debate
on important national issues on this IAC platform with a wide range /
diversity of subscribers.
If this is not a sign of democracy then I don't what
is.
As a long-time subscriber you would also recall my equally acerbic
writings on Kejriwal, AAP, Congress, Sonia, Rahul etc. FYI, everything you
or I write to this group is publicly archived and searchable on sites like
http://rti4citizens.blogspot.in etc.
Finally, I don't disagree with any 'opinions' people post here, Everyone

of those opinions is shaky I shall respond to it so that our subscribers

Dear All,
Some of the people in the country think that Mr Narendra Modi is above
criticism. If this is allowed, then there are chances of the man turning
into a absolute fascist.
India has now become globally isolated after Uri incident because of the
loose-talks of Modi and his ministers. But our ``nationalistic'' media is
reporting otherwise. I don't think that hiding facts is nationalism or
patriotism. The truth is not coming before the people. The speech of Mr
Modi at Kozhikode and his body language indicated that he was highly
disappointed. A prime minister playing with a lotus flower in his hands at
the dais of BJP's national meet after a terror attack on the country,
indicated that he had completely failed in handling the situation. I think
his national security advisor with a thorough RSS background does not have
proper understanding of the equations all over the globe.
I personally feel that Mr Modi would prove to be the most corrupt chief
minister of Gujarat if an honest probe is held into his functioning in
Gujarat between 2002 and 2014, before he became prime minister.
The biggest example of corruption was the allotment of the government land
to Tatas's at throaway prices and giving loan of Rs. 30,000 crores to Tatas
for its nano car plant with repayment to start after 20 years and, that
too, at 0.10 per cent interest. Was the Gujarat government's assets
personal property of Modi that he gave it to Tatas in lieu of the
industrialist projecting him as ``prime minister material'' at one of
Vibrant Gujarat summits.
He also allotted tracts of government land at throwaway prices to Adanis in
Kutch for the latter to develop its Mundra port.
The high prices of `tuver'(arhar) dal(pulses) is also reported to be
connected with the then Modi government's policies in Gujarat. when the UPA
government sent circulars to all the states, to not allow hoarding of the
`arhar' dal, Modi government allowed hoarding in Gujarat, that resulted in
all the `arhar' pulses being diverted to godowns in Gujarat, creating
artificial shortage in the country thus resulting into increase in prices.
The idea was to defame the UPA government.
When Modi became PM, Adani was allowed to import tonnes of `arhar' dal.
yet, the prices have not come down. All of us know the relationship of
Adani group with the political party in power at the Centre now.
As for AAP, more than 70 per cent of its leaders at the grassroots level
are having RSS background. So, one can understand who is behind the
floating of this party to achieve the target of ``Congress-mukt Bharat''.
As for functioning of Arvind Kejriwal's government in Delhi, it is better
than previous BJP and Congress governments.

Nepal-India Relation: BJP, Narendra Modi & Constitutional Monarchy and
Hindu Kingdom in Nepal

Nepal and India are only the two pious Hindu countries in the world.
These Hindu countries are bordered in between Kailash-Mansarowar in
north and Hinda-Mahasagar in south, which is popularly known as the
original place of Hindu and Hinduism. A nation is not only a specified
geography but is a beautiful home of diverse people who are bonded by
a common philosophy and culture. However common civilisations with
common beliefs of life and identical socio-cultural traditions often
extend beyond the boarder of countries. Nepal and India are not only
spatially co-located neighbors but are also two pious lands following
the greatest philosophy of the universe-

'Hinduism.' probably only we, two are Hindu countries in the world. I
want to focus obviously is on conservation of our common identity that
is Hinduism and a sustainable cordiality between our two countries.
Hinduism and its cultural traditions have a long history spanning over
a period of thousands and thousands of years and developed over
several eras. It is understood that human civilization started to
advance since the Vedic age. Among all religions of the world,
Vedic-Hindu religion is considered as an ancient religion that is
recognized as the foundation of civilization and as the most liberal
democratic way of life. Hinduism is the mother of all religions. Hindu
religion is the most personally expansive and psychologically
empowering religion on earth.

Hinduism is our identity, Hinduism is our dignity, Hinduism is our
life. It is the pride that we are part of it. The essences of Nepalese
nationalism are- Hinduism, constitutional monarchy and Nepali
language. These three are typical identifying symbols of Nepal.
Nepalese royal institution basically was known for national unity and
patriotism. Nepal's sovereignty, integrity and national pride were
addressed by monarchy. Nepal is not only an ancient sovereign country
but also a Hindu Kingdom in the world. The small and pious Hindu and
Buddha country, Nepal always seeks a permanent, loyal and respected
permanent institution–the monarchy. Any student of political science
should agree with me that the strategic and geo-socio-political
situation of Nepal mandatorily demands the existence of monarchical
institution in the country. The monarchy and Hindu Kingdom both are
inter-related identified symbols of Nepal. Our concern is national
stability, unity and complete democracy.

Since 2006, Nepal’s situation has been gradually deteriorated. This is
because our basic foundations are violated; consequently national
unity and sustainable peace has not been achieved. The constitution is
non-functional with the annulment of the constitution of 1990 that was
suddenly suspended without any reason. The country has been
unconstitutionally declared so called republic and secular state. This
is in fact, foremost cause of the deteriorative situation of the
country. Now, we are facing the most terrible crisis. Probably we are
experiencing the darkest period of our entire history. Who is
responsible for this deterioration? Let me try to explain. I think
basically there are two reasons. The first is internal reason that is
corrupted, visionless and politically incapable party leaders. Second
reason is vested interest of some foreign powers and their notorious
interference. Due to the eccentric corrupt characters of the party
leaders in Nepal, the political, social and economic disintegration is
continuing all over these days. They failed to understand the reality
the country and desire of our people. They are traitors. The parties
are choosing the ethnic lines to operate themselves to break Nepalese
unity. This is tantamount to ping for a suicidal path.

In fact, Americans and the Christian Europeans want to turn Nepal into
a Christian nation. The vested interest of foreigners is to watch and
spy India and China. They know Hinduism philosophy is one of the major
tools for India to emerge as world power. They believe India can be
weakened attacking Hinduism. Both Americans and Europeans want to
unrest China through free Tibet politics. They think by this, they may
reduce the influence of Buddhism in Tibet and China. As they are
planned to exploit Nepal as base station, they want a control over the
Nepalese administration. They think religion is best medium to
penetrate. This is what they have already practiced and succeeded in
Africa. The Nepalese monarchy of course, was major obstacle for them.
Meanwhile in India, Sonia Gandhi (who is Christian and always against
to Nepalese monarch) led congress regime came in power. With the
common agenda, Americans, Europeans and then Indian Congress led
government’s intelligence acted upon Nepal. For this, they used some
Nepalese party leaders as their puppets. And the game plan was
implemented in the name of peoples’ movement.

India has witnessed the historical victory of nationalist patriotic
power as a democratic practice of world’s largest democracy. We
heartily congratulate Prime minister Sri Narendra Modi, a visionary
leader. We believe Indo-Nepal relations will find new dimensions with
new government of India. We are against any interference. But we
always seek positive support and developmental cooperation. At this
time, we are in crisis. All Nepali people want India be supportive in
reinstating our lost pride-Hinduism and constitutional monarch. The
Nepalese monarch always has goodwill with India. The fact is that the
Nepalese monarchs held special right for carrying out ritualistic
worship in many Hindu shrines and temples in India. Then, India's
Hindutwa also can be dignified.

It is highly appreciable that current Indian leaders have made
statements for our side. Here I want to quote some statements. Senior
leader of B.J.P Lalkrishna Advani had said: 'The framework for
constitutional monarchy in Nepal should be consolidated because
monarchy is the symbol of Nepal's identity and sovereignty. Nepal
should have an active and dynamic multi-party democracy'. Present Home
minister and the BJP leader Rajnath Singh said- 'We used to feel proud
that Nepal was the only Hindu kingdom in the world,' Singh said. 'I
will be happy when Nepal is a Hindu state again. 'We used to feel
proud that Nepal was the only Hindu kingdom in the world. 'I will be
happy when Nepal is a Hindu state again. No one is appealing to the
Islamic states of Pakistan and Bangladesh to become secular. But it
was done in Nepal.' - 2010-3-22, in Nepal. Foreign Relations
Department Chief of BJP Vijay Jolly said-' I am a Hindu who follows
Hinduism. I am much upset as a decision on such an important topic was
taken without taking people's opinion' July 4th 2014 Kathmandu.

Here I would like put forward some suggestions for Indian leadership
in the issues of Nepal. The first thing is strengthening the cordial
bilateral relation at peoples’ level. Secondly, in order to conserve
Hinduism in Nepal and India and to maintain harmonious relation with
Nepal, Bharatiya Janta Party should support to restore the only Hindu
Kingdom in the world with constitutional monarchy. Thirdly, BJP Govt.
must reconstruct the Hindu temples and Dhams and have to inform the
world about the glory of Hindu religion. Fourth, Nepal and India
should have to organize a High class Commission to solve the existing
and rising problems of the temples, Dams and pilgrimages for the
harmonious relation among the Nepalese and Indian visitors and
pilgrimages.

In conclusion, Nepal has cordially sustainable relationship with
India. Being identity and survival essence, Nepal must reinstate Hindu
Kingdom and constitutional monarch. India should positive and
supportive role.
Thank you

Respected Sirs,
We all read both your write-ups very regularly and avidly, if i may say so.
Sir, the facts from the posts are very insightful.
Only one thing which bothers us is to call personal names to an office of
The PM is quite unwanted.
Our PM is doing ten persons work alone.Anyone can see that.
Institutionally our Respected PM is trying to take maximum initiative in
diplomatic as well as development issues.
We have never seen files move so fast ever in India.
Keeping the Indian demographics in mind we don't think matters unresolved
can be solved any better.
Yes, certain areas do need constant diligence which we can see IAC covering
regularly.
Sir, we all know that all of us want our India to progress and not regress
to 60s and 70s.
Thanks for keeping us posted.

Dear Mr.
Sep. 25, 2016
"Rafale deal welcome but fleet small: Experts"
Their "experts" agree that the deal "seems to have been guided more by
“political prudence than operational requirements.”
Decoded this represents the 'bania' bean counting approach from PMO / MoD
babus which has strangled the operational capabilities of our armed forces.
Since IAC stands, unequivocally, for India's territorial integrity and for
a LARGER INDIA ('Akhand Bharat') I was shocked at the PM's public statements
that henceforth war with Pakistan would be fought economically through
better schools and health and not through a fitting military response at the
appropriate time / place of our army's choosing. IAC is not at all like
Kejriwal or Prashant Bhushan asking for referendums in J&K after forces are
withdrawn and I am shocked you are clubbing us with them.
In any case, if there is any controversy on who propped up Kejriwal, let
me say unequivocally, that it was Mr. Ajit Doval and friends since at least
2010 and they continue to control him.
Doval's rogue network (although in retrospect 'network of rogues' is a
better descriptor) comprises also a vast network of so-called Hindu militant
/ pseudo-nationalist fringe persons and failed police officers ultimately
owing loyalty to the United States of America. Their gameplan is to convert
India into a partner in the USA's war on terror, in other words, India is to
replace Pakistan in the USA's scheme of things.
Doval's, Rosoboronexport is inundated with
inquiries in last week. Same goes for all the former Soviet states which
have manufacturing capacity.
So let IAC ask 1 question, and I dare you Mr. Venkatraman to answer it.
Who was the corrupt US sponsored CIA puppet in Modi sarkar cabinet who
effectively imposed CUSTOMS DUTY on ARMAMENT IMPORTS by Govt. wef 2015-16 by
withdrawing vital customs duty exemptions ?
Previously, MoD / Forces did not have to pay Customs duty on their
imports. After these CBEC changes, contracted armaments started arriving at
docks and were standing in the open for months because no corresponding
budgetary provision had been made for payment of the customs duty. The
situation became so grave that shipments were being turned back on the high
seas. All this happened between Feb 2016 and May 2016. Do you wish to
dispute this Mr. Venkatraman ? Should I name the Minister ? Because I stand
by this statement, and what is known to me (a common citizen) is obviously
known also to Pakis who were quick to exploit the situation and our lack of
operational readiness, I am alleging corruption.
As the Hindu says, the French Airforce purchased their planes at 55
million Euros each. In comparison ours are to cost Euro 225 million each.
ie. about 4.1x times more. Do the maths yourself. So either I am wrong or
'The Hindu' is wrong with their figures.
So, let us put the nation first and politics last, and focus on our
mission to fight corruption by exposing such scandals irrespective of which
party has committed them,.Thre is no abusive word being used.,We are very
careful when we write.

vituperative language such as corrupt mouse, rogue network etc. have been

Rafael deal has been under negotiation for several years and not decided

With person like Kejriwal being in the scene, people are already losing

What possible objection can the Modi/RSS Govt have for disclosing the
correct price of these 36 Rafale planes ?
Why is the Modi/RSS Govt not contradicting the price of these planes as
published by Anil Ambani group.

As the Hindu says, the French Airforce purchased their planes at 55
million Euros each. In comparison ours are to cost Euro 225 million each.
ie. about 4.1x times more. Do the maths yourself. So either I am wrong or
'The Hindu' is wrong with their figures.
So, let us put the nation first and politics last, and focus on our

These may be pennyies when compared to what the country has suffered losses
through such deals during the period of earlier Governments.

Dear Mr. Venkatraman,

When Modi ("Feku" - head of a Jumla sarkar) does not have any decent
culture of his own worth the salt what else to say about what he is doing
to the country? It is an answer to the deception that he has subjected my

As I write, frantic calls are being made from MoD offices to all the arms
dealers everywhere essentially saying '*Tell us what you have available
for delivery right now*'. This is a golden opportunity for the world to
dump all their expired stocks on us at any price they demand. The nation is
being looted through this war hysteria fabricated by Doval and his rogue
network - which unfortunately contains many misguided retired forces chiefs
and other Großer Generalstab (traitors) in it.
For instance, why the great hurry for signing this 36 plane Rafael deal,
a roundly criticised classic case of *too little too late* for the IAF,
at this time ? Why is India buying these *planes at 4 times the cost
they are sold to the French Airforce* ? Normally in the arms business it
is common to export at below price to outsiders to keep domestic production
going. *This clearly shows that there are still kickbacks of at least
500% in this deal*.

We have received several emails from eminent people on this list expressing
concern about the abusive term "corrupt mouse" used in connection with PM.

Let me thank them for expressing their sentiments and sharing their concern
that the works IAC is doing should not be detracted by usage of terms they
find abusive.

I have carefully analysed the emails received from our members on this
point. Mostly they seem to be upset that I have used the terms "corrupt "
and "mouse" for Shri Narendra Modi. Apparently Shri Modi is a pure honest
selfless world leader of stature who can do no wrong, ie a great noble
Mahatama above and beyond corruption. Many subscribers express that Shri
Modi is an iron man and great nationalist who will protect India's
interests better than any past PM did.

*Firstly*, I did not describe Shri Modi as "corrupt mouse", I described
him as "the corrupt mouse who roars" in the context of the speech he made
at Kozhikode. I perceived Mr. Modi's speech as foolishly jingoistic and
empty rhetoric made from his party's platform when there was no need for it
to be given. In my view Mr. Modi's foolish speech has seriously compromised
the Indian Army's (the affected force in this instance) tactical options to
extract a jaw for a tooth.

NB: "The mouse that roared " is a term widely used internationally to
describe foolish politicians who utter nonsense.
eg. "*Donald Trump and the mouse that roared*" [link
<http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinion/2016/08/marwan-bishara-donald-trump-mouse-roared-election-160817121849841.html>]
used to describe a "preposterous, comical, and surrealistic" speech by
Trump around 17 Aug 2016.

*Secondly*, I have qualified the term "mouse that roared" by prefixing it
with "corrupt". I have sufficient evidence with me for any reasonable
person to conclude that Mr. Modi's government/office is riddled with
corruption. In fact it is so corrupt that the PMO will not even process
allegations / evidences of ongoing corruption, under the prescribed
procedures (including their own internal norms grudgingly provided to me in
RTI), when these are submitted to it using official channels. All these
corrupt actions in the PMO are taking place under the tutelage of a past
expert of corruption processes, ie Shri Nripendra Misra, who Shri Narendra
Modi personally handpicked (and rewrote the laws of India for) to re-employ
in the PMO after his retirement. Accordingly, I have no reason to alter my
opinion that Shri Narendra Modi is corrupt.

*REQUEST*:

1) Please 'trim' old trail emails when posting to this list. Only include
the minimum text from earlier posts to show what you are responding to.

2) Please refrain from CC'ing emails you post to this list. Very often
emails which are rejected on this list by our moderators are being
forwarded and posted to other mailing lists with our tag and subject line -
thereby causing confusion.

Respected Sir

If asked about the way fwd from Uri like incidents, I could say off the top
of my head

That we should speak softly and carry a big stick if India is to go far.

i) Be bold enough to state publicly that China is India's enemy #1,

ii) Require our national policies / focus to field / equip our armed forces
with capability to fight a prolonged simultaneous war on 2 fronts,
militarily, economically and diplomatically.

iii) Restrain the lunatic elements in BJP / RSS.

iv) Remember our old friends in USSR who are now cozying up to Pakistan and
China. NB: If there was massive corruption in certain defence deals
(Admiral Gorshkov etc) it was because it was demanded by Indian side.

v) Identify traitors in high places and make examples of them.

vi) Withdraw from groupings like BRICS.

viii) Make curtailing our population a National priority.

It is very shameful that our country men are expert in abusing but do no

Dear Mr. Singh:
Make us PM / FM / DM, etc. and we will fix the country and make it First Class within 5 years. In the meantime, here are some of the things that should have been done long ago:
1.  A fixed round figure salary that is subject to tax for all netas and babus ..... no subsideis of near-free housing, water, electricity, train-air travel, transport, petrol, telephones, etc.
2.  No neta-babu housing colonies. Let them live the way the rest of the nation has to live.
3.  Immediate revocation of One-Point-Directive, and its variations.
4.  Immediate removal of corrupt and criminal-type babus and netas.
5.  No pay-commissions. Increments only on the basis of performance, say, by improving corruption index by 20 notches in one year, etc.
6.  At least 25% of babus to be weeded out after 10 years s

Dear Premji:
I would like to share a slightly different perspective. In my opinion, we are neither a democracy (mere elections do not make for democracy), nor a dictatorship. We are neither Capitalistic, nor socialistic. I see us as a Kleptocracy. It is not very difficult to find large numbers of netas who before their political careers had a hand-to-mouth existence. But within a few years of netagiri, they report assets worth hundreds or crores. And our institutions are so "caged parrots" that they buy the proposition that the wealth belongs to the wife. At another level, at least 10%, probably 20 or even 30% of our budget amounting to lacs of crores per annum is lost to princely perks like free water, electricity, rail and air travel, cars, housing, cheap loans at 1/2 the market rates, medical facilities, pensions, etc., etc., not counting the "other perks".
The unfortunate part is that no heavy-duty PM / FM or other ministers have sat down to get a complete analysis of cost elements of governance, including salaries and perks, and retirement benefits, and to rationalise same. If done, the savings would be lacs of crores per annum to the nation. Everyone promises minimum government, maximum governance, etc., but once elections are past these good things are all forgotten.
With such lopsided governence, what we get is corrupted policies, and corrupted policies lead to corrupted institutions, be it the judiciary or the polity or the bureaucracy, and eventually to the entire citizenry. Such a scnerio cannot really pass for a democracy, nor for capitalism or for socialism.

Dear Shri Sabhlok,I am no historian, but the history that I know is slightly different from what you stated. Before independence, the congress party had declared their policy of land reforms which included the abolition of zamindari/ taluqdari, ceiling on agricultural land holdings etc. Pandit Nehru was a great admirer of the Soviet model of development and his inclinations were always known. He was a trusted disciple of Gandhiji, with whose support he became the PM.
The British government did not follow socialism in India, but India during their 90 years of direct rule rapidly moved to extreme poverty - extreme poverty and very poor human development so much so that its contribution to world trade was reduced to three percent from about 25% before the East India Company became a force to reckon with in India.
When a society is extremely poor, capitalism cannot be acceptable to the people as initially it increases disparities in income and wealth. Free enterprise works when a society has reached a certain level of development. Moreover, character of the people is important and that determines whether the path to development will be slow or quick and the integrity of the people will be high or low. It is not static and changes with development. When Clive won the war, it was the difference in the character of the soldiers of the two armies and technology that enabled him to defeat a many times larger force.
There is great wisdom in the teaching of Lord Buddha of "intermediate path" - of balance between extreme positions. With development the balance shifts from socialism to free enterprise. Some of the most developed countries such as the Norway, Sweden  have high State intervention in the social sector, although their economic activity is by and large free.
I am surprised to see the subject of this e-mail link describing Modi as the "Corrupt mouse that Roars". It is quite unlike you to endorse a platform that uses such strong and abusive language because the Vedas certainly do not profess even entertaining such ideas, let alone expressing them.

I think it is right for me to recount my very sad experience when I reported to the Joint Services Wing (JSW) of the National Defence Academy at Clement Town Dehra Dun in late July 1952 to join the Indian Navy. I found myself one of the oldest in age officially while the others looked as old or older. Soon I was told by some of the others that they were in fact one or two years older, when I questioned how could this be when our fathers had to sign our entrance forms which showed the age, one of them said, "Oh he tho bola, Beta yeh baad me upka unnati ho ga !" I was shocked to be told of a father telling his 15-17 year old son that 'If yo lie, it will benefit you later !' Since then I have borne with lying and cheating to get ahead, and lying and cheating leads to corruption, which is our bane. So, I concluded that it is our parents who are to blame for our dishonesty, our corruption.
Think about it, our society needs correction. Parents and schools must learn to teach honesty as the FIRST requirement. We need a revolution led by an honest leader to change the 'foundation' of our society. To teach our parents to teach honesty as the BASIC characteristic of each child.Regards, Cdr.Hirak Nag, Retd.
